All students new to UMass Boston must attend an Advising and Registration session in order to register for courses. All freshman (0 college credits) and some transfer students must first take a writing assessment. This assessment provides valuable information in determining the most appropriate courses.
Though encouraged, the Writing Assessment is NOT required if you are certain to transfer English Composition 101. If you have not taken English Composition or if you wish to take the Writing Assessment, click below to make an appointment. You will make your Advising and Registration appointment when you attend the assessment.
