Practically every country in Europe has tested out the town forest and found it a profitable investment. The average net profit per acre annually of the mature forest there, is over $5 and this profit in some cases goes as high as $12. Many small towns in the Black Forest have no taxes to pay and in some cases the citizens receive a dividend from the forest. Think of being handed a check instead of a tax bill.
