1839 – 1845. In three sections.
Stamped on head, body, and foot: (lyre) / [in an oval cartouche:]
BUFFET
/ A PARIS / [below oval cartouche:] (5-pointed star). No serial
number. African blackwood, with German silver ferrules and mounts. Screw-cap.
Boehm 1832 hybrid system. Seven articulated shallow cup keys with pointed
arms, including B natural and Dorus G-sharp (on separate rods mounted on
innermost and outermost sides of body, respectively), c-sharp' and c',
and five ring keys for A, G, F, E, D. Three closed keys: D and D-sharp
trills, D-sharp (mounted on its own rod and sleeve). Lowest note c'. Total
length, 669.4 mm. Sounding length, 585.3 mm. Arne B. Larson Collection,

tuning slide and screw-cap. Metal lining in head and portion of tuning
slide. Six closed, silver keys, with post and axle mounts: c'', B-flat,
G-sharp, long F, short F, D-sharp. Lowest note d'. Total length, 325.8

cup keys with pointed arms, including Briccialdi B-flat, Dorus G-sharp
(on separate rod mounted on innermost and outermost sides of body, respectively),
c-sharp' and c' (mounted together on one rod and sleeve with closed D-sharp),
and five ring keys for A, G, F, E, D. Three closed keys: D and D-sharp
trills; D-sharp. Lowest note c'. Total length, 660.1 mm. Sounding length,
