      With reference to our recent correspondence (September 22 1997 through February 8 1998), I have now authorized Human Resources to pay you $9999.00 in compensation for teaching the lecture and discussion sections of the Science for Humane Survival course in the Fall 1997 semester. I have done this despite the fact that you have not signed the contract and, as far as I know, will not sign the contract even now. I hope this matter is now resolved.

      I believe it might be time for you, Associate Dean Moore and me to meet in order to discuss some of the philosophical issues you raise and to address some of your specific questions. Joan Donahue will gladly set up an appointment for you if you telephone 7-5777.
