wants to resume publishing November 3, 2003 this page is at http://site.www.umb.edu/faculty/salzman_g/Strate/Salz/2003-11-03.htm Date: Mon, 03 Nov 2003 10:32:39 -0600 From: George Salzman <george.salzman@umb.edu> BCC: (entire general list) Oaxaca, Monday, November 3, 2003 Friends: It'll be two weeks tomorrow since my appeal for NarcoNews. Al Giordano is currently in Rowe, Massachusetts at a session of his School of Authentic Journalism project, and is somewhat out of touch (at least with me) for a few days, so I don't have up to date information on the state of the campaign. Last I heard, at least a few thousand dollars had been sent in. When I get an update I'll let you know, but please don't wait. Act now. The U.S. isn't waiting! It’s acting now, at this very moment according to one website (http://www.franz-lee.org/files/pandemonium00864.html), trying to overturn the elected government in Venezuela, behind the scenes of course as well as openly. You won't get the real picture, and maybe no picture at all, from mainstream corporate media. To know what's really happening we need reliable authentic journalism, real trustworthy grassroots coverage, exemplified by NarcoNews. So don't wait. If you haven't yet done it, send your contribution for 2004 and your pledge for 2005 and 2006. I know for sure that Al Giordano and his core staff are eager to revive NarcoNews. If by January 1 Live Art 1st receives enough a) money for 2004 and b) pledges for 2005 and 2006 earmarked for NarcoNews so that Al, Dan and Luís feel there's enough backing by civil society -- us -- they will tackle another three years of NarcoNews. That's good to know. If we do our part they'll do theirs. Let’s do it. Send contributions for 2004 and pledges for 2005 and 2006 to Live Art 1st
with the memorandum, For the work of Al Giordano Live Art 1st operates under Performance Associates, a tax-exempt
organization, which you can contact for further information.
