Friends:

Well, it’ll be two months tomorrow since my last “mass” mailing. There’s some good news to report, in contrast to the daily flow in which we’re all immersed by the media.

First, indications are that the American people are beginning to wake up.

Second, I believe things are beginning to turn around in Israel, and the time may be not too long off when the Israeli government will abandon its attempt to devastate the Arab Palestinians militarily. That won’t end the struggle, but it will signal the end of this particularly brutal stage.

Third, reporting on the struggles in Latin America by Al Giordano’s Narco News website should be resuming in about a month or so. The campaign to revive that especially inspiring part of the global grassroots communications infrastructure is succeeding.

Fourth, I’ve been working to reorganize my website, and should have it ready to go before too long. Just this morning I came upon something from 1992 that is [in my not-so-humble opinion*, being immodest°] a real gold mine of ideas. I’ll attach it to this note. In case it doesn’t come through OK by e-mail, it’s at http://site.www.umb.edu/faculty/salzman_g/Greed/GoldRush.htm.

With hopes that this will be a happy year for all of us,
Sincerely, --George

If you want me to take your name off my general list, please let me know. All comments, corrections, criticisms will be welcome. Also, I know there are some of you who wrote me after my last mailing to whom I haven't yet responded. I will try to do that soon.

Note added Jan 13, 2004: Because of trouble with the mailing list, I sent this message out in four batches, as the four different times indicate.
* the phrase [in my not-so-humble opinion] was in batch 1, the earliest one.
° in batches 2, 3 and 4 I replaced it by [being immodest].
Also, batch 1 contained only the second, third and fourth items of 'good news'.

Note: If you wish me to remove your name
from this "mass" mailing list, just let me know.
All comments, corrections, criticisms are welcome.
